Located in an old bonsai plant nursery along the main strip of Chevron Island, is the lovely specialty brew bar, Espresso Bonsai. Since Karen opened up its doors three years ago, they’ve been serving sustainably sourced coffee to locals and visitors alike.

The island capitalises on its close proximity to major business, entertainment, cultural and retail precincts while offering a charming village atmosphere. “The locals support us, and they are very friendly,” Karen says. “We’re really happy to be part of the island.”

Coffee tastes better when it’s ethical. Espresso Bonsai have their own brand of beans, farmed sustainably in Columbia and roasted on-site in Australia, before it’s transformed into a perfect brew for the customers.
