Covering an area of 16.9 hectares and located a short walk from Chevron Island, HOTA (Home of the Arts) is currently being redeveloped. The redevelopment includes a stage and event platform in a garden-style amphitheatre. Artscape works will activate artistic programs, markets, festivals, cinemas and family recreation. A pedestrian and cycle bridge (under construction) will connect the precinct to Chevron Island and on to Surfers Paradise. Further stages of the Cultural Precinct will include a central Art Tower and Great Hall along with new and refurbished performing arts facilities.
Looking forward to 2041, residents of Chevron Island aged 45 and over will make up 42 per cent of the population. Given the location of the island, this is ideal for residents attracted to convenience and accessibility. Chevron Island has access to public transport networks and major roads leading into key employment precincts in addition to a high level of leisure, amenity and retail opportunities that are easily accessible by walking, public transport or car.
